Said information may be collected to track the usage of the Site and improve certain of its aspects.

A brief illustration of how cookies and similar systems are used on the Site is provided below.

Navigation cookies

These cookies are essential to allow you to move inside the Site and use its features, such as for instance access restricted areas of the Site. Without these cookies requested services may not be provided, such as for example the shopping kart or e-billing.

Strictly necessary cookies are used to store a unique identifier in order to manage and identify a unique user among all the other users visiting the Site at the same moment, to provide the user with a consistent and accurate service.

Some examples include:

  • Memorising previous actions (for example, entered text) when navigating back to a page of the Site in the same session;
  • Management and transfer of security tokens to different services within the Site to identify the status of the visitor (e.g. registered or unregistered);
  • Maintenance of tokens for the implementation of restricted areas of the Site;
  • Routing towards specific service versions/applications, as may be necessary during a technical migration process.

Performance cookies

These cookies can be of the Site or third partners, session or persistent cookies. Their use is limited to the performance and improvement of the Site. These cookies collect information on how a visitor uses the Site, such as the pages visited. These cookies do not collect information that may identify a user.   • Tracking of affiliates by third partners - the cookies are introduced by the third partners and used by the latter exclusively to check whether the user coming from another site purchased a product or service on the Site;
  • Error handling - measurement of errors that occur on the Site. Usually this function will support the improvement of services or the management of claims and will generally be strictly linked to web analytics;
  • Testing of different page structures of the Site - tests on variations in the structure, normally by using A/B or multivariate tests, to ensure that the Site maintains a consistent appearance to users during current and subsequent sessions.

Functional cookies

These cookies may be of the Site or third partners, session or persistent cookies. Usually these cookies are the consequence of an action by the user, but they may also be implemented in the provision of a service not specifically requested but simply offered to users. They may also be used to prevent that a previously offered and rejected service is proposed to the same user. Furthermore, these cookies allow the Site to remember the choices of users (such as user name, language, country of origin, etc.). All information collected by these cookies is anonymous and may not track the behaviour of users on other sites.

Some examples include:

  • remembering the settings that a user applied to a site such as layout, font size, preferences, colours, etc.;
  • remembering a choice so that users are no longer requested to fill out a questionnaire;
  • detecting if a service has already been offered, such as for instance the offer of a tutorial during subsequent visits to the website;
  • providing information to allow the functioning of an optional service such as the offer of a live chat session;
  • performing a request by the user such as submitting a comment.

Third party cookies for marketing/retargeting

These cookies may be used by third partners to display promotional banners on the Site when you are visiting other sites, displaying the latest products that you looked at on the Site. If you do not wish your computer or device or system to receive and store cookies, you can modify the security settings of your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, etc..). In any event, we invite you to note that certain sections of the Site may be used to their full capacity only if your browser accepts cookies; conversely, you will not be able to add products to your kart or purchase them (for example).
