The Giusti sisters have reinterpreted this icon of street style in an art couture design, adding a touch of luxury and femininity to the luscious poppy detail in watercolor tones that stems from an India ink drawing and is hand-embroidered with a needle and thread on a felt background. The vertical stitch technique used faithfully reproduces the lines of the drawing in every detail, interspersing the overlapping cotton thread with glimmering micro sequins. The art of embroidery is combined with the ancient art of India ink drawing to embellish an original shoe for daytime wear, the result of the AGL workshops' savoir faire, which is firmly tied to the Italian “handmade” tradition.
